Stainless Works recently visited renowned machinery & technology manufacturer Addison McKee to discuss the development of a new tube bender. The acquisition of a new bender will allow Stainless Works to improve production times, and also features the latest, most cutting-edge technologies, keeping us ahead of the pack, as the best in performance headers and exhausts.

Ron and Geoff visited with the Addison McKee crew in style and showed up via helicopter! It was a cool experience and a nice excuse for Ron to use some of his piloting skills.

Thanks again to the crew at Addison McKee for their expertise, we look forward to getting our new bender installed as we continue to lead the way in sound and performance with cutting-edge technology.

PRI 2011: Stainless Works Adds Applications and Affordability

Enthusiasts looking for top quality exhaust components are well acquainted with Stainless Works, and at the 2011 PRI show the company is highlighting new applications, interesting concepts in late model exhaust accessories, and a new line of value-oriented exhausts. Highlights of their line include cat back systems and long tube headers for 5th Gen Camaros, C6 Corvettes, and the current Cadillac CTS-V.

Blue Oval fans can also take advantage of Stainless Works’ headers for both 3-valve and Coyote Mustangs, Raptors, and F-150′s, and for those who are looking for a little more bark from their late-model pony car, SW’s new Sideburners offer a unique way to add a performance sound without going to the expense of replacing an entire cat- or axle-back factory system.

Available for the current Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang, Sideburners tap off a small amount of exhaust flow ahead of the factory silencers and redirect it to the sides of the car, exiting via hidden tips tucked beneath the rocker panels. With factory exhausts providing relatively unrestricted flow (compared to the horrible crush-bent monstrosities previously seen beneath the Big Three’s V8 performance cars), Sideburners provide what a lot of owners are looking for – better sound, without the hassle of an exhaust swap.

In another nod to providing customers with what they want at a price they can afford, Stainless Works has also rolled out their new Stainless Power line of value-oriented long-tube headers. Built to Stainless Works specs, these headers offer the same engineering as their premium siblings at a considerably lower price. How much lower? Try a suggested retail of $699 for 2010+ Camaro off-road headers ($899 with high-flow cats). SW Driver Terry Reeves Runs 9.99 at NMRA Finals

Stainless Works Driver Terry "Beefcake" Reeves was recently featured on StangTV.com for running a 9.99 at the NMRA Finals. Terry's 2011 Ford Mustang GT is enhanced with Stainless Works headers and exhaust with a myriad of other top-of-the-line performance products. Check out some excerpts below:

"Beefcake started the day with a 2.95 pulley on his highly modified and Vortech blown 2011 Mustang GT with the factory automatic transmission. He says that the car normally puts out 16psi with that pulley, though sadly, he went out in the first round of SST competition. Rather than call it a day, Beefcake took that 2.95 pulley off, went to a smaller 2.75 pulley, and hit the strip on a mission to break into the high 9-second range.
For the bracket race he dialed the car in at 9.99, staged his ride and let the beast fly down the strip on a mission for that 9.99-second pass. He must have had a premonition about his time for the pass; he nailed his dial-in time of 9.99-seconds on the nose. Terry said that the car was putting out 18 psi on the 2.75 pulley at the traps."

KDInnovations: Cadillac CTS-V Dyno

Our friends over at KDInnovations (an Authorized SW Dealer) recently installed a full SW performance connect exhaust system from header to tip on their wicked CTS-V. (Part Numbers: CTSV09HCATSW & CTSV09CBHDR).

Keith, the "K" in KDInnovations, had nothing but positive things to say:

"The car is MUCH quieter in the cabin than the "Brand-X" custom cat back I had on there. Drone is completely gone. It's got that executive sound and man it flies. [The system] fell right into place... and came in 41 lbs lighter from the heads to tips than what I had on there."

The results were definitely impressive and it's now considered one of the fastest V's without using nitrous or meth-injection. They picked up 38HP on their third dyno pull and is now making 712HP and 662LB TQ.

Stainless Works Military Care Package

We got a letter from our friend Mark concerning his Marine nephew, Amos Benjamin, who is deployed in Afganistan. Amos' unit is currently working in a remote area where there are no electronics, phones, email, etc. Mark mentioned that Amos could use a care package, so we jumped at the chance to help out.

"The Rockstar” John Leslie, Jr. finally got his ten-second timeslip in BFGoodrich Tires Factory Stock competition. However, he didn’t run a 10.90 – rather he just skipped right into the 10.80s with a 10.88 at 123.50, showing that his hard work has paid off. That pass makes him the quickest Factory Stock driver ever to take the tree.

The match-up of John Jr and John Sr made for an exciting race between father and son.

The weekend was only topped off by John’s own dad driving the “red rocket”, one of Jr.’s other FS cars. Dad made it past 1^st round, taking out Mike Washington only to face his son, John Jr…..John Sr. got off the line quicker then Jr. but was not able to hold on to the quick pass of Jr.’s modular powered car. Jr. went on to win the Joliet race giving him two wins under his belt. The chase for the Factory Stock championship has never been closer with John right on the heels of good friend and fellow racer, Carlos Sobrino.

Good friends, good racing and great sponsors like Stainless Works makes it all possible. John Jr. and John Sr. racing in the NMRA could not have been better scripted! Thanks again for your support!

2010 Dodge Charger 5.7L Dyno Featuring Stainless Works Headers

Our friends at the Meezer Group recently installed Stainless Works headers on a 2010 Dodge Charger, and gave it a solid dyno testing. Our Stainless Works headers with off-road leads gained the Charger 18.93 HP and 24.67 LBFT of torque. The Charger also features an S&B Intake as well as a Diablosport trinity.

After the barbecues and activities of this Memorial Day weekend have ended, it's important to continue to remember, reflect and honor the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country. That's why Stainless Works is honored to be a part of the IronMen Foundations' "Metal of Honor".

"Metal of Honor" is a custom designed 1932 Ford Roadster which will be touring the country and later auctioned to raise awareness and money for the issues facing families of slain and disabled soldiers, specifically education scholarships for their children.

Ford Raptor Dyno With Torq Speed Lab

Torq Speed Lab recently did some dyno testing on a 2011 Ford Raptor which included a complete Stainless Works exhaust and headers. The 6.2 liter V8 Raptor was also modified with a Torq Airaid intake which in addition to the Stainless Works exhaust system, had gains of 33 HP and 44 LB-FT of torque!

NMRA Driver Terry "Beefcake" Reeves

This year Stainless Works is sponsoring mustang driver, and all around nice guy, Terry Beefcake Reeves. Beefcake and his 2011 Mustang GT are looking to take the NMRA by storm and hit some great runs in the Super-Stang Class.

Last year, Terry took his brand new 2011 Stainless Works equipped 5.0 Mustang to Bowling Green, Kentucky and turned out a win at the 2010 NMRA World Finals. For 2011 he plans to do the same for the full 2011 NMRA Super-Stang Series.

In March, Beefcake kicked the season off in Bradenton, Florida for the 17th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA Spring Break Shootout. Beefcake defeated Bryan Hearn in first round, running an 11.31 (on the brakes) on an 11.23 dial in; but due to a red light in the 2nd round, lost to driver Chris Parisi. :( It's okay Beef, you'll get 'em next time.

Currently, Beefcake is in 9th place for the Super-Stang Season, he will be competing in Georgia this April 14-17 at 3rd Annual 2011 Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals. Best of luck Beef!

Custom Headers For Superformance GT40

One of the latest cars to hit our custom shop is this beautiful and sleek, red GT40 by Superformance. Everyone who stops by the shop has been enamored by it. Even the Fed-Ex guy took a break from his deliveries just to drool over it for a few minutes.

We're designing and fabricating new private-label headers specifically for the GT40 for Fire Fly Performance Products. Here's the GT40 at the beginning of the design phase just as the old headers were being removed.

Here's a birds-eye-view of our newly installed 180-degree Stainless Works headers. They have been nicknamed Medusa's hair by a few of the guys in the shop, the intricate bends and snug fit within the engine give these headers a very unique look.

Here's another view of our GT40 performance headers which feature 2" primaries; the only thing left is some thermal coating, and our custom GT40 headers are ready to roll!

UPDATE: Here's a picture of the completed, thermal-coated GT40 headers installed.

Custom Chevy Camaro Features Stainless Works Headers

It seems the Chevy Camaro has been everywhere lately, and the great part has been checking out all the different ways it's being customized. Recently, Victory Racing and the amazing team at the Revolution Styling Group put together this 2011 Super Sport Camaro for the SEMA industry automotive show. The Revolution Camaro includes a variety of top-of-the-line upgrades, including headers from Stainless Works.

The Revolution Camaro's exterior is painted champagne-gold and is outfitted with a custom Revolution Styling ground effects kit, including 21 inch chrome rims.

Under the hood there is a custom Victory Racing Engines twin turbo kit, featuring Diamond Pistons, that can generate a serious amount of power. Couple that engine with our Stainless Works custom Camaro Headers and forget about it.

We're pumped about how our Camaro turbo headers (part# LSXT) integrated into this automotive work of art, and want to thank Revolution Styling Group for the great design, with a very special thanks to Victory Racing for an great custom build and the wonderful photography.

Having a passion for the 92-96 Corvettes I purchased my 2nd C4 which is a 1996 LT4 in 2002. I love to modify and improve so I immediately installed a 4 point roll bar..a B&M Ripper Shifter...wider Gran Sport rear wheels and wider tires and an improved air filter. My next venture was to improve the exhaust. I also own a 68 Big Block car with headers and side pipes so I wanted to keep my 96 just a "tone" above stock. Well I searched and searched....Every year at Corvettes at Carlisle I would crawl under the C4 header cars and listen to all I could that had after market exhaust. Every year I would come home disappointed that I could not find what I was looking for.The headers all seem to hang too low and the cat back exhausts were all too loud. I own a 12 bay service center and we do everything including installation of after market exhaust including many corvettes...C4's-C5's and C6's.

This January I noticed in the Mid America Catalog the Stainless Works Header Systems so I went to your web site which did an excellent job of illustrating your Long tube Header and cat back exhaust system as well as excellent installation instructions for the C4. I called you and was so impressed with your courteous and knowledgeable sales staff I knew you had what I wanted...I first had my LT4 computer tuned to see if I could eliminate the secondary air pump and the air tubes going to the headers as well as the rear O2 s sensors. With a laptop and the proper program for the C4 we were able to accomplish that. Engine compartment looks great without all those air hoses and it still complies with our emission standards.We installed the StainlessWorks Headers--Cats and Cat Back System.....Absolutly unbelivable..The installation was not at all complicated your instructions were very helpful...I would suggest that you mention that you have to use 1" header bolts. I used MRG 5965 Ultra Seal Header Gaskets and ARP 4001111 3/8 x 1" header bolts. I also used only one of the brackets to the outside of the air conditioning compressor and eliminated the other two brackets.They total system actually fits better and has better ground clearance than the factory system. The sound to me is just perfect...It is just a little bit louder than the stock system. It has a more powerful sound yet it does not blat or sound "tinny" like so many of the "High End " cat backs do .

I am so excited that my dream has become a reality thanks to SW that I want to share this with you and anyone else out there that has an interest in a C4 system. I would welcome any one to call me if they have any questions and I will also have my car at Corvettes at Carlisle this summer if anyone would like to see and hear my system. WIth the header system and the computer tune I definitley noticed a major power increase...Especially mid range.!!!

Camaro Factory Exhaust = Scrap

Our newest Retro Chambered system has been a huge success. A local Chevy dealership has been dropping off cars six at a time, says he can't keep them in stock! On delivery, a salesman couldn't get the car fast enough. He already had a customer wanting a test drive after hearing us pull up!

This new exhaust system is based on the factory chambered Camaro systems of the late 60's. It features a dual chambered section that exits to a single or dual tip on each side of the rear valance. This system is a snap to install, our technicians are averaging one system per hour! This kit includes all the hangers and clamps for easy bolt-on installation.

Check out this 1999 S/C Monte Carlo raced by Lester Sensibello. He recently dropped this beast off at the Stainless Works facility to design and fabricate a custom set of 2 1/2" stainless polished Zoomies for this monster.

The car features a 2006 custom built 555ci engine by Gellner Engineering with a SSI 14-71 Hi-Helix Supercharger. The transmission is a custom built Turbo Glide by Rossler Transmissions out of Gerrard, Ohio. Lester has a passion for racing and has been doing it for the last 25 years. He currently races in the Top Sportsman Class up at Summit Motorsports Park and Thompson Raceway in Ohio.

We caught up with him and took these pictures at this years Cleveland Autorama where he has won 1st place, 4 years in a row in the Pro Modified competition. Check out these outrageous stats.
Fastest Speed = 213 mph
Fastest 60ft = 1.01 seconds
Fastest 1/4 mile = 6.86 seconds
Fastest 1/8 mile = 4.30 seconds

Of course they aren’t done tinkering and really want to get the 60ft under a second and the 1/8 mile under 4 seconds.

Headers: Long tube vs. Shorty

Interesting read over at FourWheeler.com. They were looking to compare horsepower and torque gains on a set of shorty headers versus Stainless Works long tube headers. For the test they used a 2007 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3L V8. Vinnie Kitko, one of our expert technicians did the install of both systems and they sent it over to Hutter Performance for the dyno. Stylin' Trucks provided both systems for the test.

They go on to explain the upside and downside of long tube headers and shorty headers. In the end the long tube headers picked up another 21 hp and 10 lb-ft torque over a stock manifold. Click the link below to read the full article and see a picture of that handsome devil Vinnie!

2011 Ford Mustang 5.0l V8 Engine Specs and video

TheFordStory.com has some info on the 2011 Mustang. In case you haven't heard, they are bringing back the 5.0 Mustang! This new Mustang isn't the same motor you are used to seeing, it has been updated and it now produces 412 horsepower @ 6,500 RPM, 390 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM.

Look for Stainless Works to be the first to market with a killer system to compliment that motor. Keep an eye out on our YouTube page for video of our latest products.

We just got back from PRI 2009 in sunny Orlando, Florida. It was a great time with beer, scantily clad women, and muscle cars. And that's just during the convention!

The show had a good turnout and we saw a lot of interest in our products, especially our catback system display for the 2010 Camaro. We had a ton of questions and many people were surprised to find out that we make our mufflers in house.

1973 Chevy Nova - Owned and Raced by Ben Davis

"... I popped the $750 necessary to buy a reproduction set of pipes (made by Allen's Stainless Steel Exhaust) from Corvette Central. When they were no quieter than the originals-which were probably fried by years of corrosion-I called Scott Kohn (from Corvette Central) for a remedy. Fortunately, Scott had a viable suggestion. He'd recently found a new supplier and offered to trade my slightly used set of stainless replacement pipes for a set from a second source.
Using a sound meter kept on hand for car reviews, I measured noise levels in 500 rpm steps with the car in my driveway and the meter placed nine feet to the side. Then I swapped to the new pipes (according to Scott, they're made by Stainless Works in Chagrin Falls, Ohio), and repeated the procedure. I was amazed at the difference: the new pipes were, on average, nine decibels quieter throughout the RPM range. And their shape at the inlet end is smoother then the pipes that I removed...
Thanks to the more sociable exhaust system, windowpanes no longer rattle when I start my Corvette in the garage. The idle rumble is below the small animal pain threshold, and it's now possible to carry on a conversation with the shifter in fourth gear at cruising speeds. So whenever you encounter a rough patch in your Corvette restoration project, keep in mind that this is a very important principal: The right parts make a world of difference."
